POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Branch Director (who reports to the Director of Operations), the Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the front desk, providing quality customer service and ensuring the safety of Club members.  Must be cooperative, friendly, and able to create a harmonious environment.

Hours

20-29 hours per week (M-F from 1-6pm with additional, flexible scheduling). 

Some evenings and weekends may be required for Club events.

Pay Range

$9-11 per hour, DOQ/DOE

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Member Development Professional (MDP) is responsible for all routine membership maintenance, including daily check in and out of all members. The MDP will understand and implement the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Kootenai County, be knowledgeable in the “5 Core Areas” of programming (character & leadership development, education & career development, the arts, health & life skills, and sports, fitness & recreation), provide support to the Branch Director, volunteers, and other staff members, and be able to build positive relationships with youth and parents.  The MDP is responsible for maintaining the front desk, providing quality customer service and ensuring the safety of Club members.

 KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Programming

· Provide a positive first impression to all members and guests and create a Club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.

· Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained and the front desk area is clear of members and congestion.

· Maintain all Club documents and the filing system(both electronically and in hard copy), including memberships, event enrollment, etc.

· Ensure all members check in and out on the correct membership package.

· Greet, monitor and track all members, visitors and volunteers.

Strategic Planning

· Work with the Director of Operations and the Membership Coordinator to track membership for compliance and grant requirements.

·  Track program and membership data for reports as needed for program support

· Work with the Program Coordinator to manage programs listed online.

· Work with the Program Coordinator to ensure all program attendance is inputted daily.

· Ensure member accounts are current with correct contact information and all incidents are recorded in the file as needed.

· Be responsible for membership cards, including printing and distribution.

· Work with Membership Coordinator to manage membership & field trip payments

 Building Management

· Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained and the front desk area is clear of members and congestion.  

· Ensure parents wait for their children at the front door and don’t roam in the club.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

·      High school diploma or GED equivalent
·      Some experience working with diverse ages and groups of youth is preferred.
·      Pass criminal history check

 Knowledge

·      Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to youth development, including an understanding of group dynamics and effective discipline as related to the population of youth served by Boys &Girls Club.

·      Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

·      Must adhere to BGCKC Employee Code of Conduct.

·      Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.

·      Demonstrated ability in working with young people.

Communication

·      Understand all forms of communication, including active listening.

·      Interact with staff, members and family in a professional, positive manner at all times.

·      Provide others with necessary, correct and timely information when requested.

·      Notify supervisor of any discipline issues or concerns

·      Communicate and disperse information about upcoming events and activities to members and the public.  This includes maintaining bulletin boards and/or the TV slide show.

Leadership

·      Serve as a role model for co-workers and youth in the programs

·      Demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional behavior.

·      Maintain contact as needed with community groups, schools, and other related people working with the club.

·      Interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards.

·      Participate in ongoing training/education

·      Contribute to a positive work environment

·      Maintain personal wellness

 ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·      Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

·      Be CPR and First Aid certified (the Boys & Girls club can arrange for this)

·      Maintain a high level of energy

·      Be able to lift at least 30lbs

·      Be adaptable and flexible

·      Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
